Anxiety

“Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.”

– Viktor Frankl

Anxiety shows up for us all in different ways and usually at the worst possible time. Anxiety challenges our self-worth, taxes our vitality, and wrecks our self-esteem. It is often difficult to explain to others what your struggles with anxiety feel like, why they consume your life, and how these struggles leave you unable to think clearly or even move sometimes. It is as if the spigot is turned up so high it feels more like a fire hose of worry, fear and panic, rather than a steady, helpful stream. I can help you learn to manage the spigot.

The clients I help struggle with general anxiety, phobias, panic, social anxiety and perfectionism. Each of them struggle with their “inner critic” constantly evaluating and judging every decision they make. This critic interferes with their most important relationship, themselves.

Typical Symptoms Include:

  • Nervousness, restlessness, or feeling on edge

  • Feelings of panic or dread

  • Rapid, heavy breathing

  • Uncontrollable trembling

  • Fatigue

  • Inability to concentrate

  • Thinking about your worries nonstop

  • Insomnia

What if I told you anxiety is a good thing! It is what helps us survive and keeps us safe by avoiding threats. You no longer have to be the passenger on anxiety’s roller coaster ride through life. This is an opportunity to take back the driver’s seat and start choosing your own direction, while anxiety takes the back seat. I want to help you define your path and start taking action in your chosen, valued direction.

We are going to "re-train" your brain with mindfulness. Mindfulness helps create space between what is happening around us and what is happening within us, so we empower ourselves to choose our valued direction - a response that will bring "our growth and our freedom."

If this describes you and your experience with anxiety, and you are ready to approach your experience in a new, empowering way, I invite you to contact me today for a free consultation.
